    Housed in the late 16th century Canongate Tolbooth opposite Huntly House, ' The People's Story ' is a museum with a difference.

    As the name implies, it uses oral history, reminiscence, and written sources to tell the story of the lives, work and leisure of the ordinary people of Edinburgh, form the late 18th century to the present day.

    Getting there by railway:- From Waverley Station, follow signs for the Market St exit from the station. Turn left along Market St/Jeffrey St to the junction with the Royal Mile. The People's Story is on your left.

    Getting there by aeroplane:- From Edinburgh Airport, take the airport bus to its terminus on Waverley Bridge. Go onto Princes Street and head east to the junction with North Bridge. Head south across the bridge to the junction with the Royal Mile. Turn left down the Royal Mile. The People's Story is on your left.
