Browse a marvelous array of hand knitted and naturally dyed garments and yarns at this excellent wool shop on the Isle of Skye.
Situated in the ruggedly beautiful croftlands of the Waternish Peninsular on the Isle of Skye, the superb wool shop supplies a wide range of naturally dyed and hand knitted yarns and clothing produced by skilled locals. Choose from a beautiful array of hats, scarves, shawls, sock and more knitted from luxurious yarns including cashmere and Angora lambswool blends, Shetland and merino wool and even handspun baby camel. A fine selection of locally spun yarns including Waternish Hebridean and Skye Alpaca are also available along with knitting needles.
A visit to the Dyehouse Exhibition provides an insight into the natural dying process with a brief audio-visual presentation and a display of the various dyestuffs and equipment used. There is also a garden where visitors can see the plants used to produce the natural dyes.
