Tollcross Park

Tollcross Park in the East End of Glasgow is known for its world-class Rose Garden and its Winter Gardens.

The Rose Garden hosts the International Rose Trials each year and is best visited in July and August to fully appreciate the blooms and fragrances.

The Winter Gardens are in an exquisite B-listed 19th century, curvilinear iron structure. It has been recently refurbished and the hothouses have many colourful and exotic plant species. There is also a children’s play area and a café.

A more recent addition to the park is the Secret Garden where the challenge is to roam the park in search of this special sensory garden which has been developed as a place for quiet contemplation.

Also there is a Children’s Farm whose regulars include Shire horses, Shetland ponies, birds, rabbits, sheep and Highland cattle.

Lastly the Visitor Centre is a state of the art environment centre which aims to educate and inform children about the nature and the cycle of life. The centre features many interactive attractions which will keep children entertained.
