Wilderness Scotland is an award-winning adventure travel and ecotourism company specialising in wilderness holidays in the Highlands and Islands.

    Sailing Holidays in Scotland

Wilderness Scotland offers two inspiring sailing holidays which also combine elements of hiking, a truly unique way to explore Scotland's rugged west coast and diverse islands. We also offer private and tailor made sailing holidays.

    Sailing and Walking trips

When sailing and walking you're able to get the benefit of both worlds as you hit the waves and take as much involvement in the crewing of the yacht as you like, then enjoy the expansive coastal views from high up on the nearby hills.

Explore Skye, Knoydart and the Small Isles on the lovingly restored 70 year old Gaff Cutter the Eda Frandsen. Sailing between the wild peninsula of Knoydart, to the mysterious and impressive Isles of Skye and Rum with their dramatic rocky ridges, you have the opportunity to hike to otherwise hidden vantage points and to enjoy fantastic walks accessed from beautiful white sandy beaches. This is an epic trip of dolphins, sea eagles and simply stunning walking. See the video for an in depth view of this very special trip.

Be spoilt by some of the best sailing in Europe as you glide between stunning islands amidst a wealth of rich and remarkable wildlife on the Inner Hebrides trip. Travelling by traditional yacht, we are able to roam amongst the islands and fjord-like lochs which make the fissured coastline of the west of Scotland one of the most breath-taking places to sail in the world.

    Private Sailing Trips

We work in partnership with a number of yachts, each with its own unique style and character - chose from a selection including a traditional, wooden sailing boat, a steel-hulled ketch and a 67ft steel-hulled cutter.  Live life on the waves, and drop anchor at delightful stops en route to lace up your walking boots and discover all the lands have to offer.

Not only will the fresh sea and Highland air revive you, the sealife, bird life and wildlife will excite you and leave you with memories of some unforgettable, once-in-a-lifetime encounters.
