Alternatively, throw on the grown-up hoodie - knitwear with attitude. While you are here, visit the Hoswick Visitor Centre and view the most haunting photographs of the Whale Caa. Enjoy an ice lolly as you saunter down to the beach (a great spot for beach-combing). Or wander round the village - the locals are very friendly and knowledgeable.

Nielanell's studio is a welcoming oasis of sumptuous colour and pattern. Simply relax and have a look at her soft, scrummy knitwear - only available in Hoswick. Highly textured handspun 'artyarn' is also available, using the finest quality Shetland hand-picked fleece, Scottish Cashmere and other exotic silks, angora and mohair.

Meet the designer, and enjoy an unexpected experience - who knows, you might even find yourself having a go on a spinning wheel...
