By some small mystery the years rattle by and we at Troon simply hold on firmly to what

we know and to what we do best.

Our round shop in Edinburgh New Town and our period piece on King’s Parade in Cambridge continue to house a unique and eclectic mix of designer clothing and accessories for all ages, sizes and budgets. We focus on collections which are exclusive to us in both cities.

Bitte Kai Rand from Copenhagen holds the front page again this season and deservedly so. This enduring lifestyle collection has everything from crisp and flow to matt and sparkle. Tones of diluted banana mix well with lavender, celadon and sepia. Strikingly uncompromising and arty prints on wholesome linen is enough to steal any show.

D’Exterior from Italy is sexy and sensational. Clifton and plissé in geranium, black and lime is tempered with cute almond lace and striated silk. The bed rock of this collection has always been and remains, the stylish knitwear.

La Bottega di Brunella from Positano comfortably provides a melting pot of home woven textured linens, in slubs, jacquards, shot and variegated. Mellow nuances of ginger, uranio and sage contrast gently in a diffusive palette with ocean and terracotta. Zingy bias cut shifts in exciting metallic strewn linen are icing on the cake!

From San Sebastian, Indi and Cold is a soft and pretty collection of homey separates in feminine prints and finest yarns. Best value too in terms of quality and exclusivity. Pennyblack is diffusion Italian chic at its best with lots to choose from at an affordable price. A well kent label.

Lauren Vidal Paris is back with us this Spring bringing a little theatre to the procedings. Sensuously layered knits and gossamer tulles combine in tangerine and buff, sand and scarlet. Is it treat yourself time? Myrine, our new studio collection from Antwerp, is cleverly balanced and discretely fashionable. If you have to keep a keen eye on your budget, this is one to check out.

Nygårdsanna is as timeless as ever with the shapely heirloom pieces in die hard natural fabrics, their signature. Lunn our completely wearable but yet sometimes still flirty range from France, continues to bring home that sense of wellbeing. The parent label Lilith is available in the Cambridge shop only and is as exciting as ever.

Majestic finest and feely second skins can be worn under or over, in ones or in twos. The mother of pearl tones, too, are always kind to the complexion. Summer with Seda by Catherine Hepfer is an easy choice; combinations and this time some lovely frocks.

Schneiders, our pedigree range of quality outerwear from Salzburg has everything to keep us dry and draught proof from sharp little trenches to work horse commuter wear.

Prêt Pour Partir is our unpretentious travel wear collection from France. It is gobbled up to the very last piece each season and so, best advice, don’t dilly dally if this is a new Spring coat year!

Ally Capellino bags this season are sleek and simple. Rothko colour blocks influence the new techy Nylon group, turquoise and green the Conservative and M’lady groups. The Waxy cotton is, always light and easy. Amet & Ladoue stunningly beautiful and summery bright scarves grace us with garden prints and subtle tapestries edged with embroidery. Be gorgeous instantly!

In this fragile economic climate we are especially aware that less can be much, much more. Please do not feel that you need to start from scratch.
