    Barra Island Tours

-a chance to see what others miss.

Barra is an island which is full of history, scenic beauty, flora and fauna and has a population with a very relaxed life style that could only exist in the Western Isles of Scotland. Barra Island Tours gives you the chance to see the islands of Barra and Vatersay, and hear about local history from Rob Daly a Barra resident for 8 years,

See Barra’s unique tiny airport, where the plane lands on Traigh Mhor. Barra is the only airport in the world that has scheduled flights landing on a beach. See the abandoned village at Balnabodach, and take in the beautiful scenery and wild life that makes Barra what it is. Tours will also take you to the wreck of a WW2 Catalina, to see Queen Victoria’s profile in rock, to the Annie Jane monument which marks the burial site of those lost in a shipwreck and to see breathtaking vistas, ancient duns, cairns, gravestones and standing stones.

Collection from and return to anywhere on the island is included. Standard tours for up to 6 people last between 2 and 4 hours (depending on time spent at each stop) and cost between £50 and £100 but bespoke tours can be arranged to fit exactly visitors’ requirements. Day tours to Eriskay, the Uists and Benbecula can also be arranged.

Whether it rains or shines you can enjoy the tour from a spacious, executive people carrier.
