Borders Journeys

Tour Guides

Edinburgh & Scottish Borders

Borders Journeys provide exclusive private and small group guided tours of Scotland. Our ancestral research services and tailor-made ancestral tours take you on a journey of discovery where you will walk in the footsteps of your ancestors.

    Welcome

Borders Journeys welcomes you to Scotland! There is no better year to visit and explore Scotland than in the year that we celebrate Homecoming Scotland 2014, a year long celebration of all things Scottish.

    Our Tours

We provide private and small group guided sightseeing tours of Scotland.

Our range of tours are a wonderful way to discover the beauty, history and culture of Scotland. Each tour is led by knowledgeable and experienced local tour guides; together you will explore historic towns, fairytale castles, spectacular scenery, discover woollen and cashmere products, beautiful local crafts and charming tea rooms. Your tour guide will take you off the beaten track and provides real local knowledge.

We make regular stops for refreshments and photographs ensuring more time is spent sightseeing than travelling.

All of our scheduled tours are available for private hire with a departure from a place of your choice. If you would like us to create a private tour for you, we will be happy to offer you our advice and plan the tour around your requirements.

    City and Walking Tours

Our half-day and full-day city walking or minibus tours of Edinburgh and Glasgow are a wonderful way to learn about the city that you are visiting. With us you will discover the history and culture of the city while hearing tales of former inhabitants whose names are etched in its past.

    Ancestral Services

We provide advice about researching Scottish ancestry and will undertake research on your behalf.

Our tailor-made Ancestral Tours are designed to take you on a journey of discovery by connecting you with your Scottish ancestors. By walking in your ancestors’ footsteps they will be brought to life when you discover the people, places and traditions connected with them. By the end of your tour you will know more about your ancestral roots and where you came from.

We are registered with VisitScotland Ancestral Welcome Scheme.
