Visit Loch Coruisk in the heart of the Cuillin Mountains with Misty Isle
Boat Trips.
New for 2013. Trips to Canna to see the puffins and to the Isle of Rum. Also whale/wildlife spotting cruises on board the MV Heather Grace.
. the longest running operator on the
magical Isle of Skye.
Skipper/owner Seumas MacKinnon is from a long line of MacKinnon boatmen
with the first recorded one probably being John MacKinnon who ferried
Bonnie Prince Charlie to safety in 1746. Seumas himself has been
transporting awe struck visitors across Loch Scavaig since 1967 and has
a vast wealth of local knowledge and experience that is second to none.
MV Misty Isle, a beautiful traditional launch, will transport you
gracefully to the landing steps for Loch Coruisk with a pause to visit
the resident seal colony. You will see a great variety of sea birds and
marine wildlife with possible sightings of
puffins, porpoises, dolphins, basking sharks or even the occasional passing
whale.
Every trip allows you time ashore to visit the breathtaking beauty of
Loch Coruisk just a short walk from the landing stage. This is a
beautiful but wild and remote area so your boat,Misty Isle, and all her
facilities including toilets, teas, coffees etc. will be accessible at all
times for your comfort and safety or just a chat about the area with
Seumas and his crew,son Stuart.
Misty Isle Boat Trips has a 5 star grading on ScotFree.TV and a rating
of "5 outstanding" from "lovetoescape". Last year we were voted second
best outdoor pursuit by a public vote on the Scottish Executive web
site' Scotland is The Place' being beaten only by Tower Ridge Ben Nevis.
We were featured on ITV1 as one of the 16 finalists on Britain's
Favourite View and also on the BBC Country Tracks. So come and experience for yourself the unforgettable
experience and genuine warm highland welcome of a ' Misty Isle' boat trip.
Regular trips running daily except Sunday from Easter to October.
