Fishing Trips are also available, offering the chance to catch a variety of fish. Treat yourself, family and friends with a wildlife cruise around Gairloch and the beautiful Hebridean waters.

With your local skipper's excellent knowledge of the area, you will have the opportunity to see the wide variety of wildlife that inhabits our enchanted Scottish coastline. Previous wildlife cruises have allowed us to see Whales (3-hour offshore cruise), Dolphins, Dorpoises and Seals. There are always plenty of birds to be seen nesting and feeding undisturbed in their natural habitat; including Puffins, Gannets, Guillemots (various), Skuas (various), Razorbills, Terns and even the White Tailed Sea Eagle.

Fishing Trips are also available offering the chance to catch a wide range of fish. Previous hauls have produced plentiful numbers of Mackeral, Pollack, Coalie (Saithe) and Ling (a very tasty fish related to the Cod). Other fish to catch include Haddock, Whiting, Plaice, Dab, Lemon Sole, Pout Fish and various species of Wrasse, Dog Fish and Skate. No Previous experience is necessary and guidance will be given by the skipper and his crew. All gear is supplied free and full day charters are available on request.

The Skipper, Jody McNeil, has been around the sea and boats all his life, and has worked as a fisherman for over 15 years. Working on boats during school holidays and weekends he attended Fraserburgh Fishing College at the age of 15 and achieved runner-up student for his year. He has worked on both offshore and inshore boats (including time working on trawlers in New Zealand) and has skippered a boat for over 10 years. During his time at sea, Jody has been privelaged to witness extensive sea life in its natural environment and it is this plus the amazing scenery that he wants to share with you on your North West Cruise.

The Boat, Portia of Poole, was built by well known Cygnus Marine in 2000. The Portia is a Cygnus Cyclone 30. She has a top speed of 20 knots and a cruise speed of 15 knots getting you to the grounds quickly and safely. Licensed for 11 people plus the skipper, the Portia is equipped with the most modern electronic equipment, including olex3d mapping for underwater surveys and fishing finding.
