Take a tour of Orkney with a specialist qualified Orkney Guide.

The Orkney Tourist Guides Association (OTGA) is a membership organisation open to those who have successfully completed the Orkney Regional Affiliate training course of the Scottish Tourist Guides Association, passed a series of written and practical examinations, and been awarded the coveted Green Badge.

Only those guides who hold this qualification are permitted to describe themselves as qualified Orkney Tourist Guides.

Many of the guides are experts in their own field - among the members are archaeologists, doctors, farmers, folklorists, historians, marine biologists, storytellers, teachers - the chances are if you have a special interest, the Orkney Tourist Guide Association will have a specialist to guide you.

As members of the Scottish Tourist Guides Association, all guides are fully insured for public liability and professional indemnity, and adhere to a strict code of conduct.

All guides from the Orkney Tourist Guides Association are happy to join you in your own vehicle for your tour, and all offer walking tours of Orkney’s historic towns.

Some guides are driver-guides with their own fully licensed and insured touring vehicles.
