Experience your own private and small group tour with Serenity Scotland, organised by Iain Stewart, a graduate in History from UC Berkeley and a post-graduate in Ethnology and Scottish Folklore from the University of Aberdeen (MLitt with Distinction).
Iain was the tour operator and guide for Pixar in 2006 and 2007, for their research trips for Brave, realeased in 2012. Iain introduced the Pixar Team, including Mark Andrews, Brenda Chapman and Katherine Sarafian, to such places as Kildrummy Castle and Glenbuchat Castle, Gearrannan Blackhouse Village, Arnol Blackhouse Village, the Fairy Glen, and the Scottish Crannog Centre; to events such as the Lonach Gathering (where we had stovies with a traveller family and heard some stories), and the Braemar Gathering. Other activities including swimming in the early morning at Luskentyre Beach on Harris, at Glen Affric and through the dawn mist to a crannog at Loch Awe. Iain organised a ceilidh (gathering) at the Ben Lawers Hotel with local folks invited who were then drawn on for inspiration for the Brave characters. The tours included music and merrymaking.
