UK Wildlife Film School

Welcome to the UK Wildlife Film School, taking you out of the classroom and into the dramatic and diverse beauty of the Scottish hills.

The UK Wildlife Film School has been running Wildlife Filming Courses for five years, to give visitors firsthand experience of filming in some of the most beautiful and remote locations in the Scottish Highlands and Islands.

Equipped with a High-Definition Television Camera, a Tent and camping kit, visitors are taken into the wild to experience the thrills and spills of real wildlife filming. The course teaches everything from turning the camera on, to composition and shot construction.

There are two production courses on offer. The five day course runs from Monday until Friday and is designed specifically to give an insight into working out on the hill. Visitors will be totally self-sufficient, carrying all the necessary equipment and supplies required.

The whole group will walk up onto the hills with everything necessary to live in camp for the full 5 days. Once in Base camp, we will radiate out from this base camp location on foot (with filming equipment plus an instructor) for five full days of seeing, tracking, observing and filming the areas resident wildlife.

The nine day production course is an extended filming course. The course is designed to give participants a longer period of time on the hill to see, observe and film wildlife.

The UK film school also offers longer courses of 12, 26 and 30 days by request and offers a bespoke course service.
