Tour Itinerary:
Day One
We head north to Stirling and the Wallace Monument before Doune with an optional visit to its Castle, famously featured in the movie ‘Monty Python and the Holy Grail’. We enter the Highlands heading through wild Rannoch Moor and Glencoe and on to the fishing port of Oban. (Overnight: Oban)
Day Two
Take the steam train from Fort William crossing the viaduct featured in Harry Potter or travel along the ‘Road to the Isles’ including Glenfinnan. We take the ferry to Skye, full of awe-inspiring mountains, myths and legends. Here, we can explore the Clan Donald Skye before driving north to our overnight destination. Day Three
We explore more of the mysterious island before returning to the mainland to visit Eilean Donan Castle and wind our way along the Great Glen to infamous Loch Ness. Here you can hop on board a boat cruise and look for the monster... (Overnight: Inverness)
Day Four
The morning is free to explore the capital of the Highlands. Onward bound we head to a whisky distillery and discover how the ‘water of life’ is made. Have a wee dram after an optional guided tour then it’s on to Beauly, with its 13th Century priory. We return to Inverness for our final night. (Overnight: Inverness)
Day Five
We explore Culloden Battlefield, scene of Bonnie Prince Charlie’s defeat. After travelling through the Cairngorms National Park, we visit the Museum of Highland Life to learn how Scotland’s clans lived. Heading south into Perthshire we stop at Dunkeld and visit its historic cathedral before our return to Edinburgh.
