Towns & Villages

The small village of Achnasheen, situated at the head of Glen Carron, boasts stunning views in all directions.

The town is the chief transport connection with the Torridon region and is surrounded by Sgurr a Mhuillin to the south east, Ben Wyvis to the east and Liatach to the west.

It is a stop on the Kyle of Lochalsh train line, and marks a fork in the road from Inverness. One branch follows the railway towards Strathcarron and Kyle while the other snakes its way through the mountains to Kinlochleven beside the Torridon hills.
