Overview

Arbuthnott was the home of author Lewis Grassic Gibbon.

Lewis Grassic Gibbon (1901-35) is most famous for his novel Sunset Song, from his trilogy A Scots Quair. You can find out all about him at the Grassic Gibbon Centre. He is buried (under his real name - James Leslie Mitchell) in a little graveyard overlooking Bervie Water.
