Towns & Villages

A small pleasant village near the A1 and south of the Lammermuir Hills, Auchencrow was known in the past for its links with witchcraft.

This small village is located in the Scottish Borders, just over a mile from the A1, but feels as if it is worlds away because it stands in peaceful countryside and offers views of the Lammermuir Hills rising to the west.

Historically the village, once known as Edincraw, has been known for its links to witches and featured in a number of old folk songs.

Ideal for walks in the hills or a quiet getaway, there is a range accommodation in the area. The surrounding countryside is particularly popular with cyclists, thanks to quiet roads, steep climbs in the Lammermuirs and flat land to the south.
