Ballivanich Beach

Ballivanich beach is found on the Isle of Benbecula in the Outer Hebrides.

Located between North Uist and South Uist, Benbecula is known for its pretty sandy beaches and the popular Ballivanich beach is found on the west coast of the island.

The village of Ballivanich is also known by its Gaelic name, Baile a'Mhanaich which means ‘town of the monks’. This refers back to the 6th century when there was a monastery here, and today the village is known as the ‘capital’ of the island with several shops and cafes to visit.
