Buckie / Spey Bay

Towns & Villages

Buckie and Spey Bay lie on the Moray coast and offer great scenery and wildlife nearby.

The town is the third largest in Morayshire after Elgin and Forres and is approximately 17 miles away from Banff and Elgin in either direction.

The coastline of the Spey Bay surrounding Buckie is interesting, especially the stunning Bow and Fiddler rock formations near Portknockie. Buckie itself has a busy harbour with a large fishing fleet, fish market and boatbuilding yards.

Wildlife includes dolphins, which can be seen from the beach at the mouth of the Spey - also a good spot for observing otters and ospreys. The long-distance footpath, the Speyside Way starts (or finishes) here.
