Arbroath is most famous for its smoked haddock, but its picturesque and well-maintained beach is alone worth a visit the harbour town.
The beautiful bay of Carnoustie Beach sits nestled below the celebrated Carnoustie Golf Course which played host to the Open Golf Championships in 1999 and 1997.
Located just a few minutes walking distance from the train station and town centre, this small but pretty beach feels secluded from Carnoustie. Steps and a slipway for the local boat club allow easy access to the beach while the adjacent Leisure Centre offers superb sports facilities alongside outdoor tennis courts and free car parking.
To the back of theblue flag beach is the Sandy Sensation Adventure Play Area which offers a paddling pool, climbing frames and other playground equipment.
