Carnoustie Beach

The small pretty sand and rock beach in Carnoustie is located just a few minutes walking distance from the train station and town centre yet feels secluded from the town itself.

The beautiful sandy bay of Carnoustie is nestled below the celebrated Carnoustie Golf Course (host to the Open Golf Championships in 1997 and 1999).

Steps and a slipway for the local boat club allow easy access to the beach while the adjacent Leisure Centre offers superb sports facilities alongside outdoor tennis courts and free car parking.

To the back of beach is the Sandy Sensation Adventure Play Area which offers a paddling pool, climbing frames and other playground equipment.

    Road Directions

Carnoustie is situated 10 miles north of Dundee just off the main A92 dual carriageway (follow signs for Arbroath from Dundee) and on the main east coast Scottish railway line between Edinburgh and Aberdeen, Carnoustie is easy to reach by car or public transport. The Sustrans National Route 1 also passes by Carnoustie.
