    A small coastal village located in the steep-sided valley on the north west side of Isle of Arran 2 miles west of Lochranza.

    Standing on the north side of the mouth of Glen Catacol, the town’s most striking feature is a scenic row of identical cottages dating back from 1863 and known as The Twelve Apostles.

    The town has recently become recognized as a home to three of the world’s rarest and most endangered tree species which are currently only found on Arran apart from few being kept elsewhere for conservation purposes.
