Visit the charming town of Cowdenbeath, found in west Fife between Dunfermline and Cupar.
Cowdenbeath is a former mining town, where the iron and coal mines closed in the 1960s to be replaced by light industry.
Today the town is well known for Cowdenbeath FC, the second division champions of 2011 - 2012 who are also known as ‘the Blue Brazil’. The grounds have a capacity of 4,370 and also play host to stock-car racing and open air markets.
Whilst in Cowdenbeath, why not tee off at Dora Golf Club, a challenging 18-hole course surrounded by pretty parkland?
The town is also home to a busy high street, with the train station conveniently located nearby.
