Forests & Woodlands

Part of Argyll Forest Park, Glenbranter Forest boasts a variety of walks and cycle paths.

The area was the first acquisition of the Forestry Commission in Scotland, purchased in 1921 from Sir Harry Lauder.

Whilst at Glenbranter, make sure to take in the Lauder Walks. These are through mature hardwoods and a unique collection of rhododendrons planted in the early 1920s. There are three short walks, the longest of which is only 1.75 miles, and cycle trails. An information centre, picnic area and disabled toilets are found three miles south of Strachur.
