Towns & Villages

Inverkip is a small coastal village at the mouth of the River Kip, 6 miles south west of Greenock and around 30 miles from Glasgow.

The village relied on agriculture and fishing until the mid-19th century, but, with the advent of the Glasgow to Wemyss Bay railway line, Inverkip was transformed into a popular seaside resort. Since the 1970s and with the opening of its marina, Inverkip has become a yachting centre, serving the sailing fraternity on the Firth of Clyde.
