Overview

Set in a beautiful forest in the Machars area these two marked trails offer fantastic walking throughout the year.

The two beautiful forest trails of Kilsture are the Woodpecker Trail and the Deer Trail. The trails are shared with cyclists and horse riders, and as you meander through the thinned hardwoods and larch trees, you will be treated to fantastic views over lush pastures. In spring the constant birdsong is punctuated by the alarm calls of cock pheasants and the overhead mewing of buzzards.
