Kilsyth is a town on a narrow strip of land between the Kilsyth Hills and the River Kelvin and is roughly halfway between Glasgow and Edinburgh.

Kilsyth is close to the Roman Antonine Wall and the Forth & Clyde Canal. The town claims to be the birthplace of the winter sport of curling and indeed the world’s first curling club was formed here and survives today. The town’s pedestrianised Main Street has a range of shops and eateries.
