Towns & Villages

In terms of population, the village of Lamlash is the largest settlement on Arran.

Lamlash is 4 miles south of Brodick on the east coast of the Isle of Arran. The village is based around a sheltered bay and is home to the island’s only high school, hospital and local government offices. Several eating-out establishments are in the village,  from tearooms to hotels.

Lamlash Bay offers spectacular coastal views towards Holy Island, which is owned by Tibetan monks who run a retreat at the lighthouse. Day trips to the island are available from the pier.

There is a strong emphasis on sailing, with many boats moored in the harbour and plenty of nearby walking trails and cycle routes.
