Towns & Villages

Lochawe is a picturesque village located at the north end of Loch Awe, 3 miles west of Dalmally.

The village developed after the arrival of the railway in the 1870s and has magnificent views across Loch Awe to Kilchurn Castle and Ben Lui beyond. At 25 miles Loch Awe is the longest freshwater loch in Scotland and a popular destination for fisherman. The area is also a haven for wildlife with red deer, pine martens, otters and the famous Scottish wildcat often seen.
