Sandhead is a village on the Rhinns of Galloway overlooking the broad expanse of Luce Bay.
Sandhead was once used for landing lime and coal and today the main attraction is the sandy beach which stretches for three miles at low tide. The sea is safe for bathing and Sandend is popular with caravanners who flock to the three caravan parks ringing the village.
