Towns & Villages

The coastal village of Sconser lies on the south side of Loch Sligachan at the foot of the Red Cuillins on the Isle of Skye.

Sconser is a crofting community centrally located which makes the town an ideal base for exploring the island and the neighbouring countryside.

An air of tranquillity is all around the town as it boasts splendid views of Loch Sligachan, Braes and the fascinating Isle of Raasay. The latter can be reached by a 15 minute ferry ride operated by Caledonian MacBrayne services and is the birthplace of the poet Sorley MacLean, an important figure in the Scottish literary renaissance.
