Shotts is a former industrial town which is situated nearly midway between Glasgow and Edinburgh.
Shotts was an agricultural parish that grew with the industrial boom of the 19th century. Long before that the area played host to various armies including the Romans and the army of Oliver Cromwell. Shotts has several notable churches including the historic Kirk o’ Shotts and the ruined Dura Kirk.
