This large sandy beach below Skara Brae is found on Mainland Orkney.

    Skaill beach is popular with sandcastle builders and dog walkers on a nice summer day, but otherwise you could be lucky enough to have it to yourself. 

    Visible from the Bay of Skaill, the Hole o' Row is a cave worn right through the headland, which causes the sea to break through the hole in dramatic style in rough weather.
