    Strachur is a small village situated at the north western part of the Cowal Peninsula in Argyll on the shore of Loch Fyne.

    Once a home to the Fergusson Clan, Strachur today boasts a beautiful Strachur House which grounds are open to walkers. Several waymarked walks starts from the Forest Enterprise carpark in the nearby Glenbranter and leads to the woodlands of the former Glentbranter House.
