Towns & Villages

Toab is a small settlement on the west side of Deer Sound on Mainland Orkney.

There are a number of beautiful beaches and towering cliffs along Deer Sound where, if you are lucky, you may spot dolphins and other bird and sea life. It is believed that the village of Toab derives its name from the Norse phrase for a place where visiting ships had to pay a toll.
