NatureScot's Creag Meagaidh National Nature Reserve feels like the Highlands compressed into one nature reserve. Rare mountain plants like woolly willow and Highland saxifrage battle against the elements, whilst black grouse flourish in the combination of woodland and open moorland. With Munro summits, an exposed whaleback ridge and ice-carved gullies, Creag Meagaidh is the complete mountain experience.

Nature Scot's Creag Meagaidh National Nature Reserve is a land of transitions. It rises from the shores of Loch Laggan, 250m above sea level, to the summit of Creag Meagaidh itself, standing at an impressive 1130m. Its plant communities range from lochshore vegetation to the alpine heaths of the summit ridge, where snow bunting, dotterel and mountain hare reside. It sits on the spine of Scotland, at the watershed between east and west, but with a climate and landscape of its own. Take a stroll by the river, watch for goldfinches and deer, or explore the lochan at Coire Ardair for spectacular views of Creag Meagaidh's magnificent cliffs.

Facilities include car parking, interpretive panels and recreation areas. There is a 3 mile path to Coire Lochan and the first 900 m is suitable for all abilities. There is also a circular route suitable for all abilities.
