Inchmurrin Island is the largest inland island in Britain and the most southerly on Loch Lomond.

Inchmurrin derives its name from the chapel to St Mirren that was once on the island. The island has had many notable visitors throughout its history including Mary Queen of Scots and Robert the Bruce. It was also once the retreat of the Earl of Lennox and his family.

On the island you will find a range of self catering accommodation including one hotel with a bar and restaurant. The hotel is open from Easter to October. There are many lovely walks and quiet beaches for swimming a number of archaeological sites including the ruins of a 7th century monastery and Lennox Castle.

You can access Inchmurrin Island by boat. The ferry takes 15 minutes to reach the island from the Burnfoot Jetty at Arden and or by arrangement with Inchmurrin Hotel.
