Go hillwalking in the Angus Glens or enjoy a quiet walk around a picturesque reservoir at Crombie Country Park, just one of the country parks in the area. Follow the Discovery Trail of Crombie and look out for the interpretation points to learn more of the history and wildlife, such as red squirrels.
At nearby Monikie Country Park you can take to the water with lessons or sessions available for sailing, kayaking and windsurfing. If you’ve got a head for heights, there’s a spectacular high ropes facility built through the treetops with a daring 40 ft climbing tower, tricky balance beams and an exhilarating 100 m zip wire.
Up in Auchterhouse is the Tank Driving Scotland base where you can enjoy an unusual day at the controls of an 18 tonne tank, as you try and drive it over humps and bumps.
The city of Dundee also has a number of things to see and do - why not take a walk round one of the 59 parks in Dundee or explore Camperdown Country Park and make a stop at the wildlife centre to see wolves and snowy owls?
