Greater Glasgow & The Clyde Valley is a fantastic destination for a day out on the water. From the beautiful Clyde Estuary to the tranquil lochs of Inverclyde, Renfrewshire and Lanarkshire there is a range of exciting watersports to suit all levels and abilities.

James Hamilton Hermitage Park has a 16-acre loch which provides an ideal setting for an exciting range of watersports including canoeing and windsurfing. This 4-star visitor attraction is based at East Kilbride. Fully qualified instructors are always on hand to offer informal hints and tips or to instruct a wide range of formal courses.

Within close proximity to the city is Strathclyde Country Park which offers 400 acres of woods and parkland around Strathclyde Loch, where you’ll find fabulous outdoor activities. The park’s loch has facilities for a variety of watersports such as windsurfing, water skiing, sailing and kayaking. Ideally situated, with excellent road and public transport links, the park plays host to a series of major events throughout the year.

At Clyde Muirshiel Regional Park’s beautiful Castle Semple Loch, in Renfrewshire, you can try your hand at a variety of outdoor activities such as paddle sports, sailing and powerboats. There are a number of watersports clubs based at the loch, including rowing, sailing, windsurfing, kayaking and fishing, which all offer courses with fully qualified instructors.

For a fantastic day out on the water then to Kip Marina, Scotland’s premier marina. Situated at Inverkip on the beautiful Clyde Estuary, here you will find a number of sailing centres and schools. So, sit back and relax with the wind in you sails with a pleasant days cruising or roll up your sleeves and learn how to work the lines yourself.
