Channings Hotel, Edinburgh
Details
During your stay you will be accommodated in one of our 41 individually decorated bedrooms. Rooms are striking yet elegant, tailored and classic, with a combination of textured fabrics such as linen, silk, suede and velvet and deep, rich colours - providing comfortable and relaxing surroundings. You may wish to choose a room offering a slipper roll top bath or a jacuzzi (big enough for two!).
Channings boasts a famous former resident, the intrepid polar explorer, Sir Ernest Shackleton who lived here from 1904 until 1910. The uppermost floor of the hotel have now been renovated in a maritime style in recognition of Sir Ernest Shackleton's endeavours, with portholes along the corridors and an Edwardian theme running throughout the room décor. Enjoy viewing some of his memorabilia on show during your visit.
As well as being a delightful home-from-home, many of the rooms offer breath-taking views of Edinburgh, while others overlook the private gardens (which are yours to enjoy in the warmer months as well as a sun terrace which captures the sun all day)!
During your stay, you can also experience great food and wine in a warm and welcoming ambience in Channings Restaurant. Our team of chefs has developed an impressive repertoire of modern and exciting dishes, which culminates in a menu focusing on seasonality and high-quality, organic produce.
Alternatively, relax in our wine bar and enjoy a pre-dinner cocktail, a light lunch or sit down to a meal from our extensive bar menu - a great place to meet at any time of day!
