Glencoe

The day has finally arrived! Skyfall, one of the most anticipated movie releases for 2012, is officially released in cinemas UK wide today. We’ve been eagerly anticipating the release date here in the office since it was announced that part of the film would be shot in Glencoe area, which is said to be the birth place of James Bond’s father.

In his third outing as 007, Daniel Craig and the Skyfall crew traveled to Scotland to shoot at Glen Etive, as well filming  near the peak of the remarkable Buachaille Etive Mor.

The Daily Record reported that Skyfall stars Daniel Craig and Dame Judi Dench raved about shooting scenes for the film in the magical Glencoe area:

Craig said: “We got the chance to go up to Scotland and it’s a great backdrop. I mean it’s so beautiful, it’s amazing up there.

“It’s still one of my favourite places.”

Dame Judi Dench said: “It was glorious as always and happened to be the most wonderful day in Glencoe – a beautiful clear day.”

How’s that for a seal of approval? The film is already getting rave reviews, so make sure you go see Skyfall as soon as possible – I’ve already got my tickets to see it tonight!
