Each of the grass or hard standing pitches is equipped with electric hook-up points (except for the camping pitches) and the park's communal facilities are maintained to a very high standard.
New for 2022! If you’re after a camping experience without the hassle of lugging a tent around and having to put it up, then our camping barrels are the perfect solution. Plenty of space for up to 2 adults on a double bed, as well as 2 children in the handy bench seating area that converts into two single small beds suitable for children up to 1.3m /4ft tall.
There’s also a small fold up table and picnic benches are provided outside in front of our water feature to offer an additional area to relax in the calming surroundings of Aird Donald Caravan Park.
All you need to bring is your own bedding and our camping barrels are a mini home from home. Lighting is provided with solar lighting (no mains electricity available) and you get full access to our camping facilities with pot washing area, toilets and the on site showers in our short stay facility
We have two of our Camping Barrels open at the moment, set in their own courtyard circle within our camping field, solar lighting and low level fencing surrounds to create a secluded area of it’s own.
As with other camping pods the barrels offer freedom of a roof over your head and some space to huddle down in these natural spruce made structures will offer that cosy environment to return to after a day exploring the many activities that the local area has to offer. A perfect base for your adventures, or even if you are visiting a local event.
Aird Donald is surrounded by walking paths, many of which lead to the rugged coastline which in spring teams with a wealth of birdlife. The countryside here also provides the perfect playground for a range of outdoor activities including pony trekking, clay pigeon shooting, cycling and sailing. Head into Stranraer's town centre where you will find many locally owned stores, the fantastic Stranraer Museum and magnificent medieval tower house of Castle of St John, as well as several traditional pubs, cosy cafes and good restaurants.
