Guests can enjoy walks along the shore, in the surrounding hills or nearby Laide woods (looking out for the abundant local wildlife), fish, or visit the famous Inverewe gardens, while Gairloch offers pony trekking and boat trips. The nearest sandy beach nearby is at nearby Mellon Udrigle.
And why Boom House? The point in front of the house once formed one end of the boom across the loch to prevent German submarines entering it in World War I.
