For us this cottage is much more than a holiday cottage to rent out. My husband Paul and I use it and we keep the cottage to a standard (recently completely refurbished) that makes it very comfortable and enjoyable for ourselves and our adult visitors and children over 12 only. We get very favourable comments from people, especially those our own age (middle age, youthful - we claim !). We want visitors to be free to relax and not have to bother paying for 'extras' such as electric or WiFi. It does offer a comfortable and quiet stay in an area of outstanding beauty among the beautiful Galloway Hills that roll down to the harbours and beaches of the Solway Coast. Comments from the past visitors have praised in it for it's location and the exceptionally high standard they found in the cottage. We are sorry but pets are not permitted. Visitors with electric vehicles will be pleased to find an EV type 2 charging point about 100m parking area.

Visitors find it the perfect place to unwind and enjoy the beauty and tranquillity of the Galloway Hills while being just a about 15 to 20 minute drive from the artists' town of Kirkcudbright, its harbour and nearby beach.. All accommodation is over one level and comprises of two attractively decorated bedrooms with very comfortable beds (comments), quality furnished sitting room and dining area plus a fully equipped newly installed kitchen. Please note - there are a couple of steps up to the entrance door which does have a grab handle.
Foodies will be delighted by the cottage's close prximity to Castle Douglas the Food Town of Dumfries & Galloway. Excellent restrauants, cafes and pubs offering very good food. The town also has it's own brewery on the main street. However, with temperance in mind there are several churches in the town and in surrounding area. There are lots of family run shops offering interesting variety of goods.
For the active, you can try your hand at watersports at the fantastic Loch Ken which offers sailing, canoeing, windsurfing, water skiing and wakeboarding. However if you prefer dry land, the activity centre is also great for archery, abseiling and orienteering.
For lovers of the outdoors, nearby Galloway Forest Park is not to be missed with over 300 square miles of woodland walks, rare wildlife and world-class cycling trails. Bird watchers say it is fantastic. So perhaps you'll go home a Twitcher instead of a Tweeter :-)
