The building - once known as 'The Watchtower' during the Victorian era - has been used as both an observation tower during the War and a Coastguard station, where boats were launched right out of what is now the kitchen straight into the sea. Located in South Kessock, on the shore of the Moray Firth at Inverness, the property has been lovingly renovated to a high standard with careful consideration being taken to preserve some of the original features. The names of those who have worked here in the past have been painted on to the walls in the stairway so that they can be remembered forevermore in this building that is rich with history. The kitchen, bedroom and upstairs lounge areas have beautiful large windows that allow you to take in the astonishing views of the Moray Firth and the Kessock Bridge. The upper lounge can be transformed into a bedroom with the sofa bed if you require a property that sleeps six in total.
Tangle Tower has a large enclosed garden. Even the fencing around the property has been carefully selected to ensure that nothing spoils the sea views that make this property stand out from the rest. Dolphins can be spotted across the firth leaping out of the water, and seals often bathe in the sun just 50 yards or so from the perimeter fence in the garden; there is something magical about seeing these beautiful animals in their natural habitat, and it's even more special when you can see all of this from the comfort of an armchair.
Tangle Tower is ideally placed for those who wish to leave the car at home and visit Inverness,on public transport. The property is just a 5 minute walk from local amenities and there is a bus stop right outside the Tower that can take you in to the city, which is just 2 miles away (making it easily walkable!). Inverness has many shops, restaurants and bars to explore, so you won't be short of places to visit during your holiday. There are also many historical castles and places of interest to see within Inverness and the surrounding area - of course, a trip to the Highlands is not complete without a hunt for Nessie at the infamous Loch Ness, which is a 20 minute drive away by car.
