SUMMARY
The Bothy is a stone-built holiday cottage with a spacious and light living-dining-kitchen space, a mezzanine bedroom above the kitchen, a cute twin bedroom and, off that, a shower room. The interiors are interesting and modern yet inviting. You’ll find a beautiful colour palette and interior design styling which draws on “old” and “new”.
The Bothy comes with free, superfast broadband (wifi) and unlimited logs for the wood-burning stove. You will be treated a few luxuries such as a Nespresso coffee machine (with pods), and spa-style organic hand soaps, shampoo and conditioner. Beautiful linens and super-soft towels are also included. There is a walled garden area with seating, a chimnea, and views up to the Lammermuir Hills as well as a few friendly sheep.
LIVING SPACE, KITCHEN & DINING
The Bothy main door takes you straight into a large open-plan space. The living area has a comfy sofa (also a sofa bed), an emerald velvet armchair and a zig zag cocoon chair. Curl up in the window seat and look out into the walled garden and, beyond, apple trees and Dod Mill’s friendliest sheep.
The wood-burning stove is the focal point of this holiday cottage. In the winter months and chilly days, keep it going all evening (or even all day!) with unlimited supplies from the log shed.
The kitchen is well-equipped and has a beautiful big dining table with space for 6 guests (or a bigger crowd on request).
MEZZANINE BEDROOM
The master bedroom is on a mezzanine level tucked up above the kitchen area, looking down on the living area. There is a super comfy kingsize bed, which can be split into twin beds, if needed. Beautiful white cotton/linen sheets and cosy blankets are provided.
TWIN BEDROOM
The twin bedroom in the holiday cottage is cute but stylish. It’s painted in a deep Inchyra Blue (Farrow & Ball) with grey Egyptian cotton linen and cosy wool blankets on the beds. There is also a generous wardrobe, a hairdryer, iron and ironing board.
SHOWER ROOM
The twin bedroom leads through to the shower room and WC. Fluffy towels and spa-style products (hand wash, shampoo, conditioner, soap) are provided.
OUTSIDE SPACE
The Bothy has a walled garden, with seating area and a chimnea to keep you warm on chilly evenings. You can also explore the grounds of Dod Mill. You'll find ducks, owls, heron, otters, a pond, rivers, sheep and woodland within a few meters of The Bothy.
Help yourself to apples, plums and hazelnuts from the orchard (in season) or forage for brambles, watercress and elderflower.
