Stunning views over the Grampians and Cairngorms ideally situated for keen golfers with easy access to Gleneagles and The Old Course at St Andrews. Just one hour from Edinburgh and Glasgow airports. Lots of activities in the grounds and nearby including mountain biking, fishing, walking and even clay pigeon shooting from the turret.

Auchterarder House is one of the most comfortable private family homes in Scotland having been extensively renovated in 2003 and again in 2020. It is an exceptionally warm and welcoming house that has been cleverly laid out and is free flowing with every comfort having been thought of. The reception rooms are large and light providing ample space for both informal and formal entertaining.

Just 5 minutes from the world renowned Gleneagles Hotel and all the facilities on offer there. A golfers' paradise.

Auchterarder House was built by Lieutenant Colonel James Hunter in 1831, who commissioned Scotland’s famous architect, William Burn to design the house. In 1876 the house was bought by James Reid who became the sole partner in Europe's largest locomotive manufacturing company, Neilson, Reid & Co of the Hydepark Locomotive Works in Springburn. He decided to extravagantly refurbish the house in 1887 using Sir John James Burnet as the architect. Much of his additions still remain today including a marble bathroom. James Reid was a great art collector and built up a very impressive collection of works, much of which is now in the collections of Glasgow Museums. After James Reid's ownership, the house became a hotel, during which time former US President, Ronald Reagan stayed. The current family bought the house in 2003 and they have beautifully renovated the house keeping the traditional aspects and mixing them with modern facilities and the extreme comfort it now offers.
