There are several signposted walks that start within the village,also a short walk away is the pub, village hall, play park, church and the village shop. At the edge of the Galloway Forest Dark Sky Park, this traditional holiday cottage is an ideal base for exploring all that Ayrshire and south west Scotland have to offer. As well as great walking, cycling and fishing are also available on the doorstep. Beaches, famous golf courses, National Trust properties including Culzean Castle, and Robert Burns Birthplace Museum are all witin half an hour drive. The town of Ayr is just 16 miles, and Glasgow is 50 miles. This is a wonderful year-round location.
