Earl Thorfinn Cottage is Situated just 5 mins walk to the town center of Kirkwall the largest town in Orkney, but is still in a quiet little area with free parking at the front of the house, Earl Thorfinn has a double bedroom and a twin bedroom, newly fitted shower room/toilet walking distance of many coffee shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants to enjoy some good loal produce and just minutes walk from “William Shearer’s” which offers a huge variety of whole foods, locally baked bread, cakes, milk and fresh Orkney meat and fish.
Kirkwall the largest town situated in the heart of the Orkney mainland is an excellent base from which to explore the Castle's, Walkmill Bay, Scapa beach, Highland Park and Scapa Whisky Distillery also for heading out west to Stromness to explore the many Neolithic sites, Skara Brae, Maeshowe, Ring of Brodgar, Ness of Brodgar or you could head out to the East mainland of Orkney to the Italian Chapel, Churchill Barriers and lots more.
To enjoy the sun there is a sheltered wee garden front and back. Earl Thorfinn Cottage is 10 mins walk to the Bus station, Harbour, Marina and Tourist Information Centre, that offers loads of information on Orkney, maps and guided tours.
The Northlink Ferry 'M.V Hrossey and the M.V Hjaltland ' comes up from Aberdeen and down from Shetland daily and docks in Kirkwall is just a 5 minutes drive from Earl Thorfinn Cottage and a 10 minutes drive from Kirkwall Airport.
Orkney has some fantastic walks and cycle routes from right outside your front Door (cycle hire available nearby). Take a stroll down the town on a sunny evening, have a nice meal in one of the many restaurants, sample an Orkney beer or Orkney gin, maybe even hear the Kirkwall City Pipe band, or just soak up the relaxing atmosphere that you will find nowhere else other than here in Orkney!
