The alt girnaig burn (stream) runs along side the cottage with a waterfall at the bottom of the garden. It is within easy reach of Pitlochry and the towns of Pitlochry and Blair Atholl.
Walks - There are a number of walks in the area. Guests do enjoy walking to Blair Atholl and Pitlochry along the river Garry. There are also some walk route guides for the Pass of Killiecrankie and the spectacular Girnaig Falls behind.
Killiecrankie Battlefield - located at the entrance to the Pass of Killiecrankie and on the 1689 battlefield. It was the first Jacobite battle, which resulted in a rare success for the Jacobites. If you would like a tour of the battle let us kniow when you book.

About Squirrel Cottage Pitlochry
It is a self catering Pitlochry Scotland venue with a large sun room looking out over a formal garden. The large bedroom window at the back, has one way film on it, with a busy birdfeeder 3feet (1 metre) from the window. Often with woodpeckers, blue tits, coal tits, great tits, chaffinch, rooks and Jackdaws from February to early June. There is a nuthatch who can regulalry be seen at the feeders too.

- Large bedroom - the bed can be made up as a double or twin beds. A small desk, chest of draws, bed side cabinets and light and a large window over looking the bird feeder, small wildlife pond and the woods at the back of the cottage. It also has a door to the side of Squirrel Cottage.
Heating and electricity costs are charged at cost, exaclty what it costs us. No mark ups. Some people like to stay and while others spemost fo the day out. We do not feel it is fair for those who are out all the time to subsidise the heating and lighting costs of those who stay in. We have oil, and elctricty meters which are read on arrival and on departure.
All linen and towels, kitchen towls etc are provided. Also washing up liquid, dishwasher fluids, washing up liquid, hand wash soaps.
