1635 – A Taste of Scotland 1635 offers a seven‑course tasting menu that artfully blends classic Scottish flavours with elegant, modern presentation—truly “a taste of Scotland” in Oban, using seasonal ingredients from across the country.

The 1635 Restaurant, located within the historic Knipoch House Hotel near Oban, is open for dinner from Thursday to Saturday evenings, with guests invited to arrive at 6:45 pm for a 7:00 pm start. The restaurant takes its name from the plaque set into the original stone walls of the house, reflecting its deep historical roots dating back to the 17th century. The tasting menu is fixed at £99 per person, with bookings made in advance and fully refundable up to 48 hours before the reservation; cancellations within 48 hours may be refunded if the table is rebooked. Reservations can be made online or by calling the hotel directly. While the setting is elegant and steeped in history, the dress code remains casual. For private dining, the restaurant accommodates groups of 6 to 12 guests on any day of the week, with a minimum of three days' notice required.
